How to join a Hissa group
Find a group with open shares, check who is organising it and where the animal will be sacrificed, then book the number of shares you need. A group moves from open to filling to fully booked as shares are taken, and Qasvah shows which state it is in before you commit.
What is a Hissa, in practical terms?
A large animal divided into shares, with a group of people taking one each. It is how many households take part in Qurbani without buying a whole animal. On Qasvah a Hissa group is a listing like any other: it has an organiser, an animal, a price per share, and a count of how many shares remain.
How do I tell whether a group still has room?
Every group shows its state. A group that is live and still has shares is open to booking; as shares are taken it moves to filling; once every share is spoken for it is fully booked and stops accepting bookings. The Qurbani and Hissa pages list only groups that are live and published, so a group you can see is a group you can ask about.
What should I confirm with the organiser before booking?
Where and when the sacrifice will take place, how the meat will be divided and collected, what the price per share includes, and who to contact on the day. Ask in the Qasvah chat so there is a record. An organiser who answers all four clearly is one who has done this before, which is most of what you are choosing between.
How many shares can I take?
More than one, up to the limit the group sets — households commonly take several. The booking screen shows the maximum for that group. If you need more shares than one group allows, it is usually simpler to find a second group than to negotiate an exception.
When can I see the organiser’s contact details?
Hissa threads start with contact locked. Qasvah unlocks it when a booking is confirmed — not when you first message, and not when a booking is still pending. That is deliberate: it stops the listing being used as a public phone directory. Until then, keep the conversation in the thread so there is a record of what was agreed.
What is Hissa-Wanted for?
For posting what you are looking for — animal, city, how many shares — so organisers with open shares can reach you, instead of you browsing every group. It is the demand side of the same market. Be as specific as you would be in a message; vague requests get vague replies.
